Bincang Bahari - Regulating Marine and Fishery Sector in the Pandemic Era

To spread information, policy socialization, and also education of marine and fishery sector for the public, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Media Center has a routine to discuss regarding the issues of marine and fishery sector with the stakeholders through the programme Bincang Bahari "Regulating Marine and Fishery Sector in the Middle of Pandemic". In this Bincang Bahari the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fishery - Sakti Wahyu Trenggono explained that currently KKP has applied measurable fish catching concept in managining fishery resources in Indoensia. This concept is derivative of blue economy concept which is believed to be able to maintain a healthy and productive marine and coast ecosystem. The application of measurable fish catching prioritizes the balance of economy and ecology in managing existing marine and fishery resources. This model has been calculated by KKP, the following is the right way to manage the model the legal basis, so that in January 2022 it can be applied. In the implementation of measurable fish catching in Indonesia, the basis are quota, which is the quota for the industry, the quota for the traditional fishermen and the quota for hobbyist which has been set by the catching zone. This structured fish catching is also seperatedto three areas, industrial zone, tradishional fishermen zone, and another zone for fishes to flourish. In industrial zone, it will have a great benefit. Currently, the center of fishery is in Java. Fishes that has been catched from anywhere will be brought to Java. But this will change, so the catch will only be in the catching area.
